If the article premise were true Google has a strange way of "abandoning Android" with apparent news today that GoogleTV is being re-branded as Android TV. Additionally (some or all?) existing Google TV devices are reportedly soon being updated to Android Jellybean.
EDIT: The number one seller in Electronics at Amazon? Apparently the Chromecast.
Edit2: Weeks later in November and the Chromecast is still the number one seller in Amazon electronics and still rising.

Well, if they want to ditch Android it is also strange that they develop a Dalvik replacement like they're doing with the new ART runtime
