Recently purchased a Pioneer DVR-105 and installed into my dual 450 G4, currently running 10.2.4. Installation was a snap however I noticed some problems right from the get go, when you left media in the drive and let the computer idle for a while the media would disappear from the desktop, also when you would try to eject the disappearing media the computer acted like it did'nt exist. I,E. the cd drive would never open. Now several weeks have gone by and the computer is starting to have kernal panic at the rate of two to three a day, The computer runs only the latest X compatible software, with the exception of Quark 4.1 which runs in classic, don't get me started on the quark thing, and the firmware is the latest available. The machine has been rock solid up until now, but Im undecidied as to weather the dvd drive is the problem or whether 10.2.4. is the problem. Has anyone had any similar experiences with the pioneer drives, are there any updates that anyone knows of that I hav'nt seen. Also does anyone know the difference between a DVR-105 and a DVR-A05 I have been to Pioneers website and they appear to be identical, however macmall appears to be selling a pioneer A05 for the mac. Wondering if I bought a PC drive which won't work on the Mac? Dooh <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
