Powerbook Burner Problems

Hi guys, yesterday i tried to burn a CD to do a backup of my photos, it got about a quarter of the way through verifying the disk after the burn, then spat the disk out and said an unexpected error occured. That was a CD-R disk, and today i've tried about 4 times, without winning, to burn CD-RW disks and the same thing happens. I don't know if the this relates to the CD burner, but i also can't drag files at the moment! If a file is in the wrong folder it will not move unless i copy and paste it into the new location, i can't simply drag it across. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" />

I hope someone can help, because all the ugly peecee users at my university are laughing at me

Cheers

It reads CD's perfectly fine? Do any of the file names have wierd characters or possibly long. Are you burning everything from the regular hard-drive? Not of a network or USB drive? Just some thoughts.

Yep, the files have normal short names, it reads CDs and DVDs fine and it's straight from the hard drive.

Have you tried making a disc image from a CD to see if it doesn't work then? I'd call tech support man if you are under warranty. If not then you can try resetting the Pram you know boot up and hold apple option P + R? You probably have already tried that. But sometimes that fixes wierd issues. What does it list under Apple System Viewer(or whatever its called)
