A fresh wave of price drops and 2-day sales on Apple's Mac product family this friday are further sweetened by exclusive offers already granted to AI readers, yielding some of the lowest prices seen this year on MacBook Airs, MacBook Pros, iMacs and Mac Pros.

Best Buy for the next 48 hours is knocking $100 off all current MacBooks and up to $150 off iMacs, all of which have been matched or beaten by other Apple Authorized Resellers like B&H Photo (which only charges tax on orders shipped to NY), Adorama (which only taxes on orders to NJ & NY) and MacMall (which offers AI readers an additional 3% off all MacBooks with coupon code APPLEINSIDER02 and only charges tax on orders shipped to CA, NY, IL, WI, MN, CO, TN, NC and GA).

    I was looking at these, and then discovered that the educational discount from Apple was a better deal (on a 15" RetinaMBP, maxed out, complete with AppleCare), sales tax and all.
