Weird: My iPod Turned Itself On!

This is true. I was at my desk closing down my computer for the night. It was 11:59 PM. All of a sudden, my iPod - siting next to my mouse pad, lit up. It caught my eye and lit up again. It was not plugged in at the time, nor was it turned on. I looked at the clock, it was Midnight. I turned the iPod on and the its clock showed 12.00.30 with the proper day at the bottom. Could it be that all over the world, iPods turn themselves on and then off at midnight?

UPDATE: Apple has posted a note on this.

Some PDAs do this as well. They mysteriously turn on a Midnight. I forgot what the reason was though!

i know for a fact that some Newtons models turn themselves on at 3 A.M. to do some background system maintenance/optimizations.

Yup, and to move ToDo items to the next day.

Annoyingly, if you have alerts that you didn't respond to, it also re-activates them as well. At 3am you get woken up by the ^&*($!#& thing going off.
