Other companies are also thinking iPod

I found this article interesting. For all those who think media aother than MP3's is not practical for an iPod-like device, think again. I suspect the iPod will have these capabilities very soon.

Yes the race is on and I hope Apple is ahead of the pack. They should be as they have a nice infrastructure setup to segue into portable Video and computing at this level. BTW sorry to hear about your Father Jango...heard he "lost his head" <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

    wow thats a crappy mockup

if spymac can make an aparently functional "iWalk", you'd think intel could come up w/ somthing better than that...

    EW!

...don't think we have to worry about this as an iPod killer, though apple probably will have color sometim soon...or perhaps another iDevice.

that thing looks horrible...not only is it ugly, but look at the control pad, can you imagine holding somethign more akward?

    Hmmm...colour screen and mulitple buttons.

Perhaps a way of broadening the general appeal of such a device is to make gaming a secondary function, the way contact management is an add-on to the current iPod.

Of course, Nintendo wouldn't be too happy about it...

Look at the Lyra Video player to see why Apple needs to get out ahead again:

$399... if it had firewire I would be buying one...
