A good idea for an Apple comercial.

I think we all agree that apples TV comercials suck really bad. So I just had an idea for what I think would be a good one.

Starts off with a man comming home from a long day at work (ill call him bill), all he wants to do is relax maybe play some video games on his computer. So he walks into the living room and sits down at his PC, and powers it up. The Windows screen comes on then BAM! Blue screen of death. The camera zooms in on bills face as capilaries start to burst. The camera zooms out and the guy who did the Compusa comercial on the Powerbook is there.

"It seems Bill is suffering from prolonged Windows exposer" In the background Bill is in a murderous rage and smashing his PC with a sledghammer.

"Well if bill had gone the extra mile and bought a Macintosh he could have avoided this altogether." Bill is now tackling the remains of the PC with his bare hands.

"The macintosh with its crash free and ease of use will give anyone a welcome computing experience"(cheesy yes but I cant think of anything else right now)

-insert OS X footage here-

"Poor bill he should have choosen a Macintosh instead" As bill is draged off in a straight jacket still going insane from his Windows exposer.

-insert Apple logo-

Apple seems unwilling to air commercials targeting Microsoft products, this probably stemming from their deal in '97. I'd personally like to see something along the lines of Jeff Goldblum chasing after Dell's Steve with an iPod. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

Was the deal with MS not a 5 year deal?

if so don't' that mean it will end within the next year?

Well it would be a cool ad. Untill black helicopters stormed Cupertino and Steve Jobs was never heard from again...

You've obviosly not used XP much, eh? The Blue Screen of Death is now a thing of the past.

That idea sounds of poor taste anyway. Apple has class and style; their ads shouldn't have to resort to this level.

I disagree. I just got an iPod for Christmas and the first reaction from everyone I show it to is, "That's that music thing from the TV....Those things look so cool." When my aunt saw it, she grabbed it from me and started dancing around the room. Now, I don't know what you consider good advertising, but to me i think it's working well.

Apple's style and class in advertising had made them stand out above others (such as annoying car commercials and Brittany Spears)

BTW, Unless Apple improves the quality of AppleWorks 10 fold and makes its own web browser that blows IE away, they will not bash M$ on TV.

This isnt some beauty contest. Its about selling computers, and growing marketshare. And if Apple has to get hard hitting in there advertising then so be it.

Im glad that someone thought that comercial was 'classy.' Frankly it was my opinion that that guy was dancing around like a complete idiot. How did it explain the features of the iPod? How did it separate it from other mp3 players? One of the few good Apple comercials I have seen is the CompUSA comercial for the Powerbook G4. At least it told you something about the product, and showed it visual beauty. Showing a guy at an ibook presumably downloading songs onto his player and then dancing around like a madman is not a very good comercial. At least your aunt liked it.
