Apple To Report Positive Earnings Jan 16 at 2:30 PM Pacific Time
Since they have not issued any warnings, looks as if Apple will report a very decent Quarter, no thanks probably to the success of the iPod and iBook. It will be broadcast via Qucktime from the Apple site.

Of course the attending analyists will ask questions, as they always do, and the response from Phil Schiller and other Apple execs. will be, "we don't discuss future products". The closest they will say, as they have in the past, "we have some interesting things in the pipeline". Sorry, they want to keep their jobs, er keep Jobs from their wrath!

not exactly. there have been cases in the past where they made exceptions to that rule

What exceptions?

Early in 2001, Jobs was asked when a Superdrive would get into an iMac, and he said "not this calendar year." They've said things that suggest they don't want a PDA.
They won't say "we're coming out with a G5 in July," but they may drop certain hints that you'd never hear from them anywhere else.
You know that question will be asked - it'll just be interesting to see how they respond. It probably will be just "we don't discuss unreleased products", but you never know.
