At macminute.com there is a link to this article. It says apple is considering somer retail venture in India. It doesn't make clear if they mean Apple Stores or just being at regular retailers but it is interesting.

On that page there is a link to another article that says Apple has hired some Indian firms to develop or port business applications for OS X . Hopefully we'll get another piece3 of the puzzle at MWT.

On a side note, on th radio in Atlanta, there was a commercial for a product called Deep Space Explorer. It had a woman announcer with a calm voice and she said it was for Windows and Macintosh. That was pretty cool since I don't hear the word Macintosh on the radio much. But then at the end of commercial she said it was available "at your local Best Buy, Circuit City, and Apple Computer store". Unfortunately the Apple Store in Atlanta isn't open yet but it was nice to hear that anyway.

We don't have an Apple Store in Oregon yet. Is the software selection really as good as a Mac catalog or is it very selective?

i've been to the apple stores in Albany NY, Cambridge MA, and Salem NH, and i was truely overwhelmed by the software selection at all three. i can't say they were identical (of course, i visited them over the course of about 4 months), but really impressive.

and as a sidenote, i'm blown away at the momentum the OS X shareware community seems to be getting. spend some time looking through the listings at apple <a href="http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/"; target="_blank">OS X downloads</a>

click on any of the categories on the right, and consider how much is being created already. pretty cool.
