This MWT is going to be beyond the rumor sites. Way beyond.

To me, it'd be bigger news if SJ WASN'T keynoting it. Anymore, it's just a given that he will, and Apple will overhype it.

Yeah but after Apple stated that there would be no new hardware revs for a few months I thought it was interesting. iMovie 3, iPod 2, iTunes 2.1 anyone?!

What a surprise! Now, let's see if it is webcast. I seem to remember one of the recent Tokyo MacWorlds not being available live.

Man I hope that thing is webcast. I really want to see Jobs talk about the success of new iMac, and convince us that these shipping delays are actually a good thing. This guy spins up faster than an Ultra SCSI hard drive so if anyone can do it, he can.

Besides, with Jobs onboard I'm hoping there will be a demo of OS X 10.2 and maybe he'll even commit to a release date.

Also, what better time to introduce someone from the conspicuously absent Macromedia? She/He could demo the new MX line of apps. Hey, with no hardware announcements scheduled, Steve's gonna have some time to fill.

iMovie 3 has reportedly been in the works for a while. the major change will be realtime effects like FCP if reports are correct. The interface should also be cleaned up a bit.

iPod 2 I hope that comes out. I need a 10GB iPod ora cheaper 5GB one

Well the iMac shortage according to CNet is a lack of 15" flat panel displays. Apple just cannot get enough of them. Now this was predicted a few weeks ago when an article talked about a shortage of glass needed to make the displays. How this could have happened is a mystery as Apple had invested in Samsung to allow them to increase output so Apple could get enough. There are lower quality displays available but Apple is using the best currently available. As a stockholder I'm pissed. Unfortunately, Apple has not responded to quieries. Ingram, one of the biggest distributors, is said to have only received 1500 new iMacs! Reeeediculos!

I´m beginning to doubt reports like that. Also the "only 15.000 iMacs total in jan-feb". Here in Denmark (aka. "To hell with those herring eaters" according to Apple) we have received 300 iMacs with faulty keyboards and also some with correct ones. If we have received, let say, 500 iMacs there is a lot more than 15.000 produced.

They use glass to make LCDs?

The screen on my lovely new iMac doesn't feel like glass.

There is a plastic frame which holds the screen inplace. TFT screens are sandwiched with glass, a special kind obviously. It has been reported that most of the makers of this glass have stopped making 15" versions and make only 17" and above. Whatever the problem, it's unfortunate Apple didn't take this apparent shortage into account. The parts for the new iMac come from dozens of sources and somebody really screwed up in managing this.

I bet we'll see a preview of the commercial they'll be doing during the Oscars (keynote 3/21, oscars 3/24).

But, wait. Why would apple sponser the oscars just to tout products that were released 2 months (or more) ago? Maybe a new device?? Here's to hoping

with photoshop for os x out now we're due for another damn bake-off.

photoshop is great and all, and the release for os x is a big deal, but enough is enough!

    OS X, 10.2 at MWT!!!! Ohhhh-YEAHHHHHH!!!!!

At least, Jobs will introduce it, but it won't be ready until MWNY.

No new hardware, no hardware revisions. Jobs talks about the MHz myth, shows the iPod again, and talks about the superdrive (Isn't it cool! It's the most amazing thing!).

MWT is going to be a bust, which is sad, because Apple should be updating their products constantly in the current market. They are falling behind in everything and unless something drastic is done, Apple is doomed.
