Text Message Forwarding Not Displaying on Updated Iphone
Hello! I am new to both this thread and the Yosemite update. So, as many of you know, the Yosemite update makes it possible to use iMessage to message non-Apple devices. To do this, an individual must turn on 'text message forwarding' from an iPhone using the same iMessage account as the one being used on the desired Mac computer. I have my Macbook and my iPhone using the same iMessage account and have Yosemite installed on my Macbook and iOS 8.0.2 installed on my iPhone. However, the option for 'text message forwarding' does not display in the Message section of my iPhone settings. I really, really want to know how to use iMessage for non-Apple devices and would love to know why I am unable to see the 'text message forwarding' option. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I always had it happen automatically, which leads me to believe you just have to have an iPhone with the same account as on your Mac active on the same network at the same time. No navigation needed.
A dropdown just appears in Messages on OS X; you confirm from there.
