They never have with their software...so why now?

Actually, many other software companies (and even Apple themselves) seem to do this on a routine basis (remember the iTunes update that wiped hardrives?)

I always have sweaty palms installing software on any machine...'cept on a Windows PC they sweat when I turn one on. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

I like it how CNET eventually throws in that pro-MS spin, even with this article.

What does this article have to do with a lousy iTunes installer that was pulled within a few hours of being posted?

The article I read was about a M$ funded website pushing anti-Unix propaganda...and the website itself was being hosted on a Unix driven machine.

Interesting, to say the least. Is Micro$oft really concerned about FreeBSD? Or are they concerned about the largest provider of Unix systems in the world, Apple?

If I didn't know any better, I would think that M$ is actually getting a bit defensive towards Apple's OS X!

Actually, it's more of a slag at Sun, and Linux to a lesser extent.

I like the picture of the guy 'crawling out the window.'

    Interesting metaphor...
