Apple touts iPhone 6 as world's most popular camera in showcase of extraordinary user photos
Apple on Sunday launched a home page takeover paying homage to the iPhone 6's camera with a series of striking photographs and videos taken by its users, including tips, tricks and apps used along the way.

What follows are dozens of intriguing photographs taken by average iPhone 6 users, along with tips for achieving similar effects seen in the photos, along with a listing of any supporting apps or iPhone 6 accessories that were used to compose the shots.

But seriously, these are great pics but I have to think Apple had this waiting specifically to release the day of the Samsung S6 event.
So what? The Galaxy S6 Edge can let you place your phone down on the glass and then light up the edges with one of 5 colors like neon lights under a douchebag's car. Top that, Apple¡
It also has glass backing, which was so not cool when Apple did it because that stuff was fragile, but now it's cool again cause Samdung!
Imagine being an Apple fan in 1997, and someone from the future told you that in 2015 Apple would be making the most popular smartphone, tablet, camera, media player, have the most popular music download service, that Macs were taking over again, and that they made more money than any other corporation on the planet. People are furious about that. Over on Ars the general sentiment is basically "So it's an iPhone running Android now? Lame!"
Not that any Samsung is even in the same zip code as an iPhone, but they still think so, so I'll humor them.
But the Verge says it's the best designed Samsung phone ever!
1) Those are just the run of the mill anti-Apple people that are against anything Apple does, so ****'em.
2) Even though Samung's presentation brazenly borrowed (although not illegal to do, as far as I can tell) from Apple's event structure, they did make a good point about why the battery can finally be non-user-replaceable: 10 minutes on the charger will give it charge up 4 hours of use. Now for anyone that thinks about it for more than a second will see that it still doesn't resolve the foolish, core reason people want to be able to replace a battery as oppose to simply charging it with an external charger, but they at least offered something to their user base. I'm curious to see how other devices match up with 10 minutes of charging as I know my iPhone jumps quite quickly with 10 minutes when very low (I'm just not sure by how much).

It'll be interesting. I know they claimed it charges faster than an iPhone 6, but I doubt they compared it to a 6 charging with a 2.1a charger.
Basically, all the Android device makers are realizing what Apple did long ago, which is that like 98% of consumers just don't care about most of those features. Heck, you'll notice that many iPhone owners want longer battery life, not the ability to swap one out. And they did at least start the base model with 32GB of storage.
I regularly use six of those photos apps. Mextures is awesome. My Pedco Ultrapod II Light weight Tripod mount and Shoulderpod S1 Smartphone rig to be indispensable hardware accessories for my iPhonography. I haven't heard enough personal reviews about the olloclip to fee the need to add that accessory.
It is amazing how Apple still doesn't offer RAW support, and yet they tout the camera? This is one area my Lumia 1020 shines.

Really helps to illustrate that the iPhone is a tool fr passionate creation, not just consumption.

1. Not so secure as uses same old magnetic stripe signal from LoopPay.
2. You have to:
a. Power the phone
b. Swipe up to launch the App.
c. Authenticate with finger print at bottom of screen?
d. Place phone near magnetic reader and hope it works like LoopPay.
3. Does not yet use emv
1) You can also use NFC. Samsung even makes a decent argument for the current state of affairs as to why they offer LoopPay: NFC isn't yet ubiquitous, but magnetic swipes are.
2) I missed it, but in the other thread someone mentions your card number is tokenized on the NFC's secure element. I assume that's where your card number is pulled from when using the LoopPay portion, too. That seems pretty secure to me.
3) Overall, the look and features look really good. I like that they are focusing on fewer features that seem to be implemented well.
I love that Apple posted this on the day of the galaxy announcement, once again focusing on the camera's usefulness, not merely listing off specs and bumping up megapixels. On that note, here's a few to add to Apple's collection:

Is that the iPad adapter? My wife noticed that when she plugs her 6+ into the iPad adapter, it charges to 90% in 15 minutes or so.
I just wonder if that could damage the battery?
iDevices will determine how much power they can pull so the larger PSU won't be a problem.
