No, they want to keep their money before they lose it all when Apple tanks.

the real ? is how much of a stake in the company do both of them still have? like what % of their holdings were sold? 50%? 20%? 90%?

Don't turn into Chicken Little just because two execs sold their stock.

Avie sold a bunch a year ago and suddenly all these rumors about his leaving Apple for greener pastures sprouted up. Is he gone?

Andersen, Mandich, Rubenstein and others have all sold big chunks before without those transactions turning into prophesies.

Apple's stock always goes south after an expo, and WWDC is May 5th. So maybe they just wanted to sell their stock before WWDC?

Better yet, maybe at WWDC Apple is going to announce plans to scrap their Hardware division and focus on OS X for x86!!! That MUST be it!

OK, so you all say it means nothing... but 500,000 extra shares on the open market in the frame of a couple of weeks is not good for the price...

Bah. I love these armchair investors. 500,000 extra shares sold on the market in a couple of weeks when the average daily volume is 5,000,000 share is a drop in the bucket. Literally, 1%.

It doesn't do anything to the stock price, other than if individual investors get a herd mentality going and start abandoning AAPL in droves, which I doubt...

For values of 1% approaching 10%.

I doubt that would make too much of a difference. Most of AAPL is probably tied up in big funds that aren't prone to massive selloffs.

    500,000 is 10% of 5,000,000

I am getting a little scared. THREE major execs selling millions of dollars of shares? that seriously concerns me. Though, I only have a little stock, I don't want to see it tank either.

I wonder what the hell is going on here.

[quote] Apple executives continue to unload shares

May 13 - 11:50 ETÂ*Â*According to a May 8 filing, Apple CFO Fred Anderson intended to sell 159,332 shares acquired through exercised options that carry a value of US$3.8 million. Anderson had previously filed to sell 100,000 shares and according to Reuters had sold 274,000 shares for $6.6 million between April 23 and May 3. Meanwhile, Apple board member Sina Tamaddon also filed to sell 250,000 shares on May 8. Previously we noted Apple Vice President Tim Cook's proposed sale of 310,00 shares and Vice President Nany Heinen's proposed sale of 125,000 shares.

    Taken from <a href="http://www.macminute.com"; target="_blank">MacMinute...

    *159,332

    *274,000

    *250,000

    *310,000

    *125,000

    ========

    1,118,332 shares sold...

I think that Apple is going to announce something very big in the near future which will cause a huge demand in their stock. When you think about it, a major announcement would cause a demand for the stock and people will want it. If what Mac OS Rumors say is true about a 100% increase in clockspeed performance, people will want Apple stock as Apple will be at 2+Ghz. If this does happen, it could explain why Apple executives are selling their stock which would compensate for an increase in the demand of Apple's stock.
