We do you feel the need to pay taxes to a state where you have no representation and never set foot in. Further the sale wasn't made in your state so it has no valid claim to taxes.

Our state is more awesome than other states as a result, but most Americans haven't figured that out yet and continue to live and pay high taxes in their high cost of living states. We think people should stop linking to blood-sucking LEGAL websites and just shut up and move to our state where peace and harmony on the sales tax reigns supreme. Buy all you want inside or outside our state and you owe us no sales tax at all. Let freedom reign!

Holding out for 4D and a built-in Skylake processor, for no reason other than Skylake makes everything better, even if it's not wired in to anything or powered up. Just stick one in there and your monitor wins instant geek cred.

Actual text from the above site on Oregon.

Oregon, along with Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, and Montana, is one of five states with no state sales tax. Therefore, if you are selling goods or products over the Internet to customers located in Oregon, sales tax for those customers should be a non-issue.

For the record, I live in NH, so also pay no sales tax. However, that does not mean folks in the other 43 states that sales tax isn't collected, nor do they live in a no sales tax state, that they do not have to pay a sales or use tax. Plus, my original post statement still stands:

While Adorama may not collect the sales tax on your purchase, if you bought this item at a store in your state and would have to pay sales tax, you do actually owe your state the sales tax.

For the record, starbird73, I haven't lived in the US for the last 20 years.  And although I have to pay sales tax here in Japan, I don't want to buy something in the US and be forced to pay sales tax on it (which I don't legally have to pay), especially since I will have to pay sales tax on it here.  But the problem is that some companies infuriatingly won't ship outside the US, so we who live outside the US often have to buy the item and get it shipped somewhere within the US.  My folks live in California, but that would result in CA sales tax applied UNLESS I can buy from a company outside CA who won't charge sales tax (e.g., Adorama and others so kindly and appropriately mentioned here on AppleInsider).  Only when buying from those NICE SELLERS can I then get my folks to transship it to me, without having to pay sales tax on the US side.  But when buying online in the US a lot of the time, I am forced to pay sales tax to the seller even though the seller is outside CA.  So I end up paying CA sales tax on top of Japan's.  That's flat out wrong.

Ok, I can see and concede your point, but I am assuming that you are a very small portion of the population for that example.

That said, my point isn't that the company doesn't collect it. My issue is that AI should not be saying anything about it in the first place, much less touting it as "that's an additional $200-whatever in potential savings!" Because it is NOT a real savings for most people by the letter of the law.
