A week after introducing Beats 1 Replays on Connect, Apple is now aggregating archived Beats 1 shows, including those hosted by celebrity DJs like Elton John, in a special Apple Music section.

The new Beats 1 Replays section is now being advertised at the top of Apple Music's "New" category alongside the latest replay of Run the Jewels' show WRTJ. The section features full replays of popular live shows hosted by regular Beats 1 DJs Zane Lowe, Julie Adenuga and Ebro Darden, as well as weekly or bi-weekly programming.

It appears that Apple plans to push select archived content curated from the past week and labeled "This Week's Replay," which so far includes celebrity-hosted shows like the aforementioned WRTJ. Also represented are "Elton John's Rocket Hour," "Money Pizza, Respect," "Time Crisis with Ezra Koenig," "OVOSOUND Radio," interview show "Gratitude," and a number of other specials.

When Apple Music launched Beats 1 Replays last week, content was limited to Beats 1 core DJs and the feature was most easily accessible through Connect, Apple Music's answer to social networking. At the time, playback of previously recorded material was thought to be an attempt at boosting user interaction with the fledgling service.

Interestingly, searching for "Beats 1 Replays" yields no results in Apple Music's search bar, but querying specific show titles will surface their latest replay offering in "Top Results."

"Curated"...what exactly does that mean...lemme me guess: content hand-picked by the artists and movers & shakers who have some type of intuitiveness on tap to what is recommended for everybody. I smell BS. Thanks, but no thanks, many people will choose, on their own accord, what they will stick in their ears...people don't need artist curated selections to help guide us...nor do we need their celebrity inside...I have seen it coming for a long time now: Recording Artist, Actor, DJ/VJ, Visual Artist, Fashion Designer, Product Designer, Social Activist, Policy Champion...one wonders what all these stars CAN'T do, ehat titles can't they have under their belt and on their mantle of acheivments and grandiosity?

Or, you can listen to their shows. Hear some old stuff, new stuff. Like it, dislike it - take it for what it is.

No need to get out of shape about it. There's no conspiracy theory under every rock. (And I'm a sucker for a good conspiracy theory ;) )

EJ surprised me - plays some great bluesy and gospel stuff.
Try it you might change your mind.

    The Alligator Hour rules imnsho
