It appears that the Apple Watch will gain at least one new accessory during today's special event in San Francisco, as a new (Product) RED edition of the colorful rubber sport band has appeared on Twitter.

Tech blogger Larry Greenberg showed off a photo of the band's box, though he did not reveal the band itself. The box bears typical (Product) RED branding and the now-familiar vector art-style product shot of a red sport band.

Rumors that Apple would finally add new color options to the sport band lineup began circulating last week. In addition to red, the new colors are thought to include yellow and navy blue.

Those colors and more were seen earlier this year, when Apple revealed an expanded palette during a fashion-centric event in Milan.

Apple has a long history with (Product) RED, and has raised tens of millions of dollars for the charity through special events and sales of red iPods and accessories. An App Store promotion for last year's World AIDS Day campaign generated more than $20 million in donations.

All rumor shots are required to be taken with a Sony Mavica. Be glad it's not a QuickTake.

Well here's a question -- given that there are likely to be one or two new watch cases in annodized gold and/or rose gold, along with the space gray, will there be bands with different colored fastening pins to match the watch case, or will they all be silver as they are now?
