GM Candidate updated or not?

Per instructions I spent 3-4 hours installing the El Cap GM Candidate update, yet when I went back to "Purchased" I see it still shows Download. The version in Apple Info shows 10.11. So did the latest beta install or not? I can see no difference anywhere so I'm guessing not. I sent Apple a report.
