Pismo G4/500?

Well, two new G4 upgrade cards came out within the last 24 hours and I now have the opportunity to 'upgrade' my G3/500 to a G4/500.

It's a little pricey and I'm wondering if it's worth the upgrade. I want to get the most life out of this machine but I don't want to spend money foolishly. The clock speeds of both chips are the same and I'm wondering just how much faster the 7410 will be than my G3.

What I'd really like to do is upgrade the graphics memory to 16 MB, but it can't be done. So should I upgrade my machine, wait for a faster upgrade, or skip it entirely?

The other thing to consider is that my Apple Care policy does not run out until 2005. If I get this installed, it will probably void that warranty.

How much is it? If it's really expensive then don't bother. Either wait for a faster upgrade or don't upgrade at all. You're happy with your Pismo's speed anyway, right Fran?
