Stumbling block
I was trying this "restore from backup" solution on a iPad2, and when I called for the restore , the system told me that I had to turn off the Find My iPad app on this device before the restore could run. Minor detail is that I can't get into this device to turn off the app, or to do anything else.....that is the problem I am hoping to fix. A new release of ios9 won't be much use if I cannot get into the device to download and install the fix.
