<strong>This could be a boon for Apple and Linux should they decide not to go this route. Consumers will be PISSED when the experience the draconian measures this entails. Droves would migrate to Apple or Linux.

Yes...that's a possibility. I't could also mean the end for other platforms than Wintel.
Imagine you are a subcontractor to a large company that have adopded Palladuim technology, and they tell you: "And we, BoughtbyMS Inc, uses Palladium to exchange documents and data. You have to adopt that to get in buisness with us..."
