please help me quick!

I just acquired an iMac from eBay.



I reformatted the drive and installed Mac OS X (1.0) and then installed 10.1.



To install anything else I need the Installer Update. I downloaded it manually from Apple (as opposed to using Software Update) and I try running it and it says I don't need it.



But the thing is I do because when I try installing other stuff it says I need the Installer Update.



Any help would be apreciated.



Mods: please don't move this to genius bar...yet

    I knew you had a problem from line #1.



    Do you have a second Mac?

    Hmm it appears I needed the security update installed. Its installing right now (I'm on a different comp than the iMac typing this.)



    I think everything will be ok now.

    I have a knack for fixing other people's problems just by entering the room.



    To bad it doesn't work for me.

    lol



    security update, installer update are successful. its working on 10.1.5 now. i think its working fine now.
