.Mac *CONFIRMED*
Hey, you all know Steve Jobs' site at Apple? The one with the holiday photos, his resume, etc...
Take a look at it now.
Look at the bottom...
.Mac here we come!
(and damn, it DOES have a capital M)

I can't believe I didn't see this in the other thread.
OK, I'm going to smack my head into the desk repeatedly, then go to bed.
Feel free to delete the thread, flame me, whatever.... sleep deprivation does strange things.
Oh well. It will be interesting to see what else is new iTools/.Mac-wise.
J
so does that mean that they're not announcing it today?!

No, they will announce it when they were supposed to, at the keynote.
Steve's gonna be p!ssed...

All about .Mac has been answered.
I actually think its okay. The 100 mb is a huge plus and I predict Apple is going to give us something that will intergrate streaming etc. with iTo... .Mac.
The name (despite i already hate it) show that Apple really think they can go head to head with MS and thats a good sign.
I´ll pay the 50 bucks the first year and reevaluate a year from now and expect them to have given me much more features during that periode.
i wonder what the pounds sterling price will be. same as dollars i expect
Arse.

well, i guess i can kiss goodbye to my 5 mac.com accounts. Not impressed.

5 mac.com accounts for one person, and you don't see a connection?
Your bitch thread is a thing of genius, I'm heading there now.

While I beliebe in some ways this is very Microsoft because what if a family of four all have an iTools account, the mother and father, son and daughter, have their .mac.com e-mail and their homepages they want to Apple to serve so they can show their friends and family...well know that family is out $400 a year...
This is an absolute joke...you can get web hosting with a gig of space for under $70 a year, so why go .Mac?!
Man this is lame...

Apple must not have anything worthwhile in the pipeline to need to screw their customers so brazenly for a few bucks. Bet they'll be charging full price for the 10.2 upgrade with no upgrade duscount too. "We're going to innovate out of the slump" Yeah, right

Go and work out what it would cost to give 25 million people FREE iTools accounts. Now add in people who think "it's free, I'll have 5".
25 million x $10 = $250 million a year
And it costs more like $50 per head, believe me, just for old iTools.
Why do people expect Apple to give everything away free?
