IT/IS Job Opening in KC Area:
I am the Network Administrator for a publishing company here in the KC area (Lenexa). We are a Apple-based company.
We are currently looking to fill a cool new IT/IS position. It requires a balance of Mac and PC knowledge, and experience with apps like Office, FileMaker, GoLive, etc. Network experience is helpful too. If you know the basics, we can train the rest. Our IS dept. wears many hats, and we are involved in a lot of fun projects such as:
Manage File+Print Services (OS 9 and OSX servers, as well as NT)
Manage LAN responsibilities (Cat5e cable, T1's, Cisco router and switches, DHCP and DNS stuff)
Manage ARA dial-up services for Mac clients. Future VPN transition planning.
Support wireless networking (Airport, future Bluetooth)
Build and support (networked) cross-platform Filemaker databases and Excel. Future usage of MySQL.
Support Mac and PC workstations and laptops (OS 9, OS X, Win 95-98, NT, 2K) Usage of Apple Remote Desktop, Timbuktu, etc.
Manage OS X FTP Server and OS X Apache Web server.
Basic Web development (html, PHP, SQL, etc) PageMill, GoLive, Image Ready, etc.
Misc. desktop support (Virus prevention, hardware repairs and upgrades,new deployments, etc)
Support basic prepress environment (PDF workflow, troubleshooting graphic files, PostScript stuff, printers,scanners,film reraders)
Manage PDA support (Palm OS clients)
Support 3rd party apps such as Citrix, Oracle, etc
Multimedia work (PowerPoint, Quicktime VR,etc) including digital still and video cameras, LCD projectors.
Internal printer support:HP and Tektronix printers, Colorspan large-format printers.
Manage Outlook Exchange mail services for Macs and PCs

Support telephone and voice mail services.
Manage Backups
LT & DAT tape backups. CD & DVD archiving.
Provide cross-platform solutions for PC & Mac (file translation, compression, transfer, conversion and repair)
Software and Hardware purchasing, manage licenses and serial numbers.
Manage content for 4 web sites including FTPing, QA testing, etc.
