Will there be favorable accouting scandals for Apple?

Are Dell / Compaq HP/ Gateway or Microsoft doing some under the table terribly dirty accouting?



Imagine, Dell has an accounting scandal and loses hold of its business...APPLE WOULD WIN!!!!!

    according to a report, APPLE was the one with shaddy accounting. i don't have a link, but it was from early this week. it was about the top 5 profit over-stating companies. they said apple over-states it's profits by 1000%.



    that's what i'm worried about. i don't wanna have to buy a PC...if apple dissappears, then there will be little competition...it might be funny to see fred anderson or steve jobs in jail, though...but i hope things don't end up that way

    Apple's account was also handled by Arthur Andersen until the Enron scandal, then they keenly decided to jump ship.



    I do agree that HP is a company the SEC should watch closely though. I don't think Dell has anything to worry about. Their business model is squeaky clean...parasitic, but clean...

    Maybe you should re-read your sources before misquoting them. The article was talking about companines not counting as expenses stock options to executives. It listed Apple as one of those companies. It did not say that Apple has overstated its profits by 1000%. I'd link the article, but I can't seem to find it either. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" /> One of the few times google has failed me....
