Apple officially announced plans to launch two new Chinese outlets later this month, accomplishing a recent target of 40 stores across the Greater China region.

One of the new stores will launch at the Galaxy International Shopping Center in Tianjin's Hexi District on June 11. The second, coming on June 18, is another Shanghai location -- this time at the new Hopson One complex in Yangpu District.

Both shops will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, unlike many in North America and Europe, which have reduced hours on one or more days.

The 40-store goal was originally quoted by Apple retail head Angela Ahrendts in January 2015. The executive in fact mentioned a two-year window, making the company six months ahead of its deadline.

Apple's Chinese growth has slowed in recent quarters, but the country is still an extremely important market. In May it announced plans to invest $1 billion into local ridesharing service Didi Chuxing, suggesting that it's still optimistic about the local economy.
