Mac Online Gaming

Wouldn't this be a great tie in to .mac?

Currently there are many pay for play services for PC. Why shouldn't Apple add some sort of kick arse Gaming Features for Mac users. This would foster Gaming on the Mac cheaper than merely purchasing a Developer. Honestly it would make .mac a shoo in for many users.

    YES.

...mac online gaming is a joke- i can't imagine how they expect mac users to hold up their own everquest network...

this reminds me of the xbox and the xlive network by microsoft... developers don't seem to like being forced into another companys portal... maybe apple will steal gameranger like they stole watson...

Yeah this is definitely an issue. Free email is nice but a good online game is like a Relationship Destroying Huge hit of Crack.

Plus it fuels the desire/lust for new Hardware. Apple needs to get wise...and quickly. What else is going to drive people online to .mac as fast?

Somekind of online gaming on .mac would be nice. But Apple's offer probably will end up with something like what Yahoo, Real, and so on. Rather than like what Microsoft did.

    As for online action games.

Maybe Apple should hired Brian Greenstone of Pangea Soft to made an online action game? After all, he was once hired to do a QuickDraw 3D and once also hire as part of the QuickDraw 3D developing team. And many of Pangea Soft game are bundled with Macintoshes.

It would be interesting though if the game is more than just a mere game, instead it become a sort of way for people to assume an alternate persona, enable them to chat with each other in artificial world, discover information through the use of a artificial library, and so on.
