Buying a Verizon iPhone at a NYC Apple Store

Hi Verizon iPhone Customers,

I have pre-ordered a 7+ with Verizon that now has a shipping time of 9/23 so thinking about trying to go to a store on Friday to pick up one. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether it would be an issue to get the upgrade in at the Apple Store since I have the pre-order already through Verizon? Verizon says I can cancel my order any time before the phone ships so figure I can always cancel it if I buy in store.

Also, for anyone knowledgeable about NYC Apple stores, any one have an idea which NYC store will have the best shot to get a phone? I imagine you have to factor how much inventory they get with the line. I would plan to get there around 5:00-6:00AM on Friday.
