How to watch Apple's Oct. 27 'Hello Again' Mac event
On Thursday, Oct. 27, Apple will host its second press event of the fall, where it's expected to showcase new MacBook models including an overhauled MacBook Pro with an OLED touchbar, USB-C, Thunderbolt 3, and possibly more. As usual, there will be several ways to watch.
For most people the best option will probably be the events page on Apple's website, which should go live shortly before the event starts at 10 a.m. Pacific time (1 p.m. Eastern). Because of the unique HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) technology Apple relies on, viewing the stream will require Safari for Mac or iOS, or Microsoft's Edge browser for Windows 10.
Mac owners must be running Safari 6.0.5 or later, while people with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch must have at least iOS 7.
The one remaining (official) option involves the Events app on an Apple TV. This will work on fourth-, third-, and even second-generation models, despite Apple otherwise winding down support for pre-tvOS devices.
Unauthorized streams could potentially show up on sites like YouTube, but these risk being pulled down, and would be relying on the same feed anyway.
In any case AppleInsider will be live from Apple's Cupertino headquarters, providing play-by-play coverage for people who can't tune in.
