macOS Sierra 10.12.4 third developer's beta now available

In addition to betas for iOS, tvOS, and watchOS, Apple on Monday also deployed its third developer-centric beta of macOS 10.12.4 with Night Shift, and other bug fixes.

Like the second developer beta issued on Feb. 7, Monday's third version brings Night Shift mode to Mac. Originally incorporated into iOS, Night Shift minimizes user exposure to blue light from device screens during nighttime working hours, a technique thought to minimize impact on a user's circadian rhythm.

In addition to Night Shift, the update also brings dictation support for Shanghainese, system APIs for reading, writing and navigating PDFs, and the usual assortment of bug fixes and performance improvements.

Apple's first macOS 10.12.4 Sierra beta arrived in late January, with developers granted access to the update two days prior to public beta testers.

Users currently enrolled in Apple's Public Beta Program can download the latest macOS test version from the Updates section of the Mac App Store. Those interested in testing beta software before wide release can sign up for Apple's program via the company's official website.

Hmmm, might be able to switch to Sierra soon.
Still not ready for pro-use in a production setting - seems to be the norm lately.
Not that it's all Apple's fault - 3rd party software isn't quite there yet, but you gotta wonder about how much support Apple is offering for things to take so long?

So did Apple fix this beta to actually provide NightShift on the late 2011 MacBook Pro 17" yet?!  F.lux works fine on this model so NO EXCUSE Apple cannot get it working as well!

Blathering nonsense and one opinion, especially coming from you considering your established anti-Apple attitude on this forum. There are certainly millions of Sierra installations being used for “pro-use in a production setting”.

Well, the Night Shift feature doesn't work on a Mac Pro 5,1 with a AMD Radeon HD 7950 video card.

I've been using the Sierra developer's betas in production work (OK I have back ups) with Adobe Cloud apps, Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X.  Not had any issues.  What is it your fearing won't work?

    Probably his anti-Apple rhetoric.

Why would it? Night Shift works only on Macs that support Metal.

Night Shift only works on Macs that support Metal, which the 2011 doesn't.  There is no "fix."

Oh ... that's the reason.  Thanks, I missed that along the way.
