I'm looking for a free email for my sister, and myrealbox.com isn't excepting any more accounts currently. My only require ments are that its can be checked with mail.app (pop/imap) and that its free...a cool name wouldn't hurt

Any ideas?

there are plenty of free that work in pop.

    yahoo does

    altern.org (http://altern.org/mail )

gives no spam and asks you nothing, works in pop...

    i think it's 10mb, could be 15 as well.

iol.it (yummy.. u get a lot of spam though) (5mb)

    libero.it (5mb)

    inwind.it(5mb)

    email.it (15mb)

    i suggest altern.

goto <a href="http://www.registerfly.com"; target="_blank">www.registerfly.com</a> and buy you a domain for like 10 bucks. They will give you a free web page and a free email account. I think you can access it with pop but im not 100% sure.

Go to <a href="http://www.fastmail.fm."; target="_blank">www.fastmail.fm.</a> It's IMAP only, but I think it's better than POP anyway, so thats ok. I got this email right after Apple announced .Mac would cost money, and I'm happy with it. It's web-based, and also works with Mail (although setting up Mail was just a little bit tricky.) Lastly, you choose from a ton of domains, but I liked fastmail.fm the best.

    So check it out.

i registerd my yahoo.com.br many years ago, and use it from yahoo.it as popmail since some 3 years, in yahoo.it that feature is free.

The best way of getting free mail is to get your own mail server. Get DSL with a static ip address, put together a cheap DNS/IIS/Mail box, and you will be able to give others free e-mail accounts.
