Price INCREASE on 15" iMac at Apple Store Canada?

Posted:
in General Discussion edited January 2014
I could have SWORN Apple dropped the price of their base model iMac to $1849 last week when the US store dropped theirs by $100.

The price of their base model iMac dropped by $100 US and $150 CDN at their Canadian Apple Store. Right on the front page of under the iMac - "15" models now $150 less", same as the US store has.

I remember thinking to myself "who the heck is going to spend another $450 just to get DVD, crappy speakers, and a pinch of RAM?" The combo model is $2299 CDN.

Only as of today it reads "New Low Price". Where is the low price? It's back up to $1999, where it has been forever. I guess we only had a 3 day window to get it at $1849. Doofus on the phone says "I didn't know about any price drop".

Sure.

Heeeeere Matsu Matsu Matsu... come on boy.

You must mean players, not teams.

Fvcking Apple, I know we're practically using pesos over here, but come on?

But let me take a moment from my obligatory Apple price bashing to say, WHAT THE FVCK IS CANADA DOING? We've been losing a steady penny per year since the 80's. HUH? Meanwhile the Americans are backing up the water trucks for all the free H20 they can grab and sodomizing us with softwood lumber? Jesus man, we're getting killed.

At least we can pump gas and ride the bus without getting sniped, but HOLY FVCK are we ever getting creamed. And the bugger is that nobody in exporting seems to mind. Americans get a 50% discount buying cheap Canadian raw materials, and we, possibly the most resource rich country in the world have a currency value that would even embarass South Americans (who, by the way, are smart enough to hold American Funds)

ARRGGHHHH!!!! :bang-head: Mulroney = giant jackass!

    Thanks Murbot! I'm feeling better already. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

Well, I still wouldn't trade living here in Canada.

As you've pointed out, the fear of violent crimes is greatly reduced due to our gun laws...it's not written into our constitution!!

As far as exporting problems, I think it's just one of those things we have to put up with, living next to the most properous and most influencial country in the world.

Can't live without 'em, difficult to live with 'em.

Well, it's BACK down to $1849. I'm going to try and track down the lying idiot I talk to at Apple so I can kill him.

"It's $1999, it's always been $1999 as far as I know, I've never heard of any price drop."

If anyone bought one at $1999 this week they'll be steamin'!

I was in a Future Shop here in Edmonton last night, and noticed that they have dropped the price on both the low-end 15" flat-panel iMac (the CDRW version) to $1599 and the Superdrive

15" flat-panel iMac to $2299...they had dropped these about a month and a half ago to about $1899 and $2599 respectively...it seems like they are trying to get rid of these models, while keeping the low end eMac and the high-end iMac (17"). Anyhow, it seems like a great deal, if you have the cash or credit. Have any other Canadians noticed these prices in their Future Shop stores as well?
