Grand Opening of King of Prussia store

...is on Saturday the 9th. I'm fairly excited, and plan on being there. I'm glad to finally have one in the area. I live about an hour from the Westfarms store, but go to school only about 10 minutes from KOP mall. So this is good. Anyway, just wondered if anybody else will be there. This'll be my first Grand Opening. And now I've run out of things to say, so I will stop typing.

Awesome! I told a friend of mine live in the area that one was planned, but I didn't know until now when it would happen. She's at college in GA now, but she'll be ecstatic nonetheless.

Cool, my 2nd grand opening. The Palisades Mall opening was nice and I got there late but still managed to get a T-shirt (2 actually).

I wonder if this one will be so swamped that you'll have to get there really early if you want a T-shirt <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

I doubt you'd need to get there early to get a t-shirt. When the Palo Alto store opened, the line wrapped around the block for hours. When my friend got there at 4 PM he still got a t-shirt.

Yeah, at Palisades they were giving away the shirts for a long time.

Hi all! Posting from the KoP store. There's a crowd, and they've got plenty of t-shirts left. I'll post pics of the line and the store when I get back home. I was in line for about 45 minutes, and I think it's still as far down the mall as it was when I got here at 9:45. Anyway, there's a line for this PB, so I gotta run.

    peace

I'm having some trouble accessing the page at the moment: getting a 504 Gateway Timeout error, but should work eventually, so enjoy.

I was there by 9:20. Waited 45 minutes or so. It was awesome!!!! Got the shirt. Didn't buy anything. I was going to buy Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but an employee told me he wasn't sure it would run well on a Pismo.

    I'll put pictures up too!

bleh...... it's one of their "cheap and small" stores that don't have a theater. hate those and they are building more and more of them.

pathetic.... the theater IMO is one of the best features of a normal Apple Store

Yep. It definately is one of the best features of the bigger stores. I also just don't like the layout of these smaller stores.

Bah... PA gets a watered-down AppleStore?

Apple Store 2.0s are the standard stores now. I just sat through the most horrible Final Cut Pro session possible at the Palo Alto Store so I'm not too fond of it. Other than special presentations, the theater is practically useless to most. If anybody wants an OS X demo, they can get one from any machines on the floor.

Basically, they were able to cram 90% of the store into 2/3s the space. Without the smaller Apple Stores, they wouldn't ever be profitable.

hardly 90%.... the new stores have a horrible, absolute horrible, software selection..... it's very sad.

the huge software selection was also one of the best parts of the retail stores cause you knew they would have what you want there.... not with these stores.

Yeah. After being in 2 bigger ones (Palisades and Tice's Corner) and 2 smaller ones (Westchester and Roosevelt Field), the selection at the bigger ones is so much better. In comparison, the smaller stores have barely anything.

Do you really buy software in the store anyway? I never buy software in the store, I get it online. It's always cheaper that way.
