Should I wait and see if they come out with new ones soon?

Do you guys think they will update them any time soon?

Or is it a safe bet to get one now?

Thanks for all the input!

I'd wait for the next revision, which I can see in the next month or two. They'll for certain fix the noise issue... it really is annoying... Plus you'll get Firewire 800 and whatever fancy new stuff.

I stared at that for a min, too, before I realized the time was correct. It just seems odd because the 12 o'clock times are near midnight (midnight is AM, btw) and the 11AM time is before noon (noon is PM).

I am a stupid, stupid man.

    I am going home.

(still, a pretty quick answer from Apple to whether he should wait or not )

haha, thats funny. I think im going to buy a G4 1ghz, only 1,500 instead of 1,700, and its better. Geez thats a good deal.

It's not really better, because the previous low end G4 had two 867mhz procs. I'd go for an old DP867, which should be a little cheaper now, though no firewire 800 and louder case.

You can get dual 867s for $1500 now from various retailers. Dual 1 GHz machines are $2000 but you also get a superdrive, to make up for the slower speed compared to the $2000 Dual 1.25 GHz.

I personally think the dual 867 @ $1500 is a better deal than a single 1000 @ $1500, even though it includes FW800 (which I'd never use), Bluetooth (which I'd use even less than FW800), and Airport Extreme (which I'd use even less than Bluetooth).

If you want all that stuff then go for the single GHz... I personally have no use for the extra connectivity but then again I just have an iBook and a mouse...
