I woke up to a 3 mbit connection

Oh my god. My ISP had promised that it would be going to 3 mbit in the next few months, (all the while being stuck at 750 Kbit), so, this morning, I turn on my computer, read some newsgroups, and whamo, downloading at 130 KB. I get suspicious. This is faster than any download I've had so far, so I go to Apple's, as I know they are devilishly fast if you can handle it. I start downloading something I already have, whamo! 320 KBps and more. Ugh. It's exciting and sickening at the same time. I'm not a morning person, but this does help.

    Wow, 3 mbit per second. 56k is looking worse and worse. Dod gamn backwards cable company, no two-way service on my block, but 1/2 mile down the road is broadband heaven. Sigh...
