I will still requent this forum as often as possible, but I must say goodbye to the Mac world for now. As of the beginning of next week I will no longer be a Mac user. My iBook is going away, and I will be stuck in the hell known as PC land. =) Farewell sweet OS X, I hope to see you again soon.

Donations to my "Bring cyko back to Mac" fund can be made to my Paypal account. Email me for info.

Well it's a long boring story that i'll spare you from. But the short of it is that it actually "belongs" to an exemployer, and our relationship has became a bit tainted in the previous few months. So rather than have to deal with legal issues and other BS down the road, i'll cut my losses and save up for one of my own. Especially at the current prices. =)

i feel for you, my brother (who had his B&W G3 in my room) left for college so i now have had to resort to a PC in my room if i want something. Then again i can go downstairs and hop on the QS G4 when i need to.

Maybe you should consider getting a cheap PCI PowerMac (like a 7500, or a 9500, or an 8600, etc) and slowly upgrade it as you build up your money... they are pretty bad in their stock configurations, but they are easy to upgrade to speedy OS X-capable machines. You can often find them on eBay for under $100, usually with at least a little more than their stock RAM (normally 16-32 MB stock, and 48-64 MB for eBay ones).

I also believe <a href="http://www.macofalltrades.com"; target="_blank">www.macofalltrades.com has a G3 upgraded 9600 for sale, for something like $200. Might be something to look into. I always liked the beige Macs, they seem more sturdy than the newer ones.

I'm sorry, really sorry. This is the most depressing thing I've heard all day.

Yes, it is quite depressing. But i'm sure i'll be back in the game soon.

For anyone interested I do have an auction going on eBay for the RAM that I bought for the iBook. It is a stick of 256MB RAM that was on my iBook 700. Here is the link:

    Thanks all.
