What game should I buy?

I have money to blow, so why not blow it on a game? What game should I buy? As an optional side question: Does anyone have (or has played) MOH:AA, Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix, Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, Black and White, and/or Baldur's Gate I or II? <--- I've been thinking about one of these games, but I can't decide on which one to get. Just to let you know, I already have: Warcraft III, Starcraft, RTCF, and Quake III. What game (any game for the Mac platform(I'm getting sick of my consoles (yes I have every console))) do you suggest?

I'm a huge Baldur's Gate geek, so I would reccomend those. You've gotta really be into Sword and Sorcery type stuff, though and they take a lot of time.

Baldur's Gate II rocks...oh man, does it rock. After that, get Icewind Dale, and Fallout and Fallout 2. Those games will keep you coming back for more and more. They're not demanding in terms of hardware, especially Fallout and Fallout 2. And Fallout 1 is very well priced. So run, don't walk to your nearest Mac dealer and get these games.

MOH is a fantastic game. Graphically, it isn't quite as good as Wolfenstein, but the story line is better and I like the weapons better. There's just something cool about an M1 Garand. You can't go wrong with either one. Those are really the only games I have. ANd they both run GREAT on my TiBook. No slwodowns or anything. Smooth as silk.

Another vote for BGII, if you like RPGs. It's a bit long, but it's a lot of fun. I started to mess around with Neverwinter Nights on the PC, but I've been sidetracked since I've been playing Unreal Tournament 2K3 online for quite a bit. Good stuff.

Just remembered the original BG is OS 9 only.

I run BG II in 9 as well but only because my iMac is long in the tooth.

Well I've been playing a good amount of Warcraft 3 but Jedi Knight 2 has excellent multiplayer.

The single player game feels unpolished but the multiplayer is superb.

Checkout Max Payne. It's a 3rd person shooter with a unique perspective, one of my recent faves. Also, don't forget Deus Ex if you don't mind booting into 9. SOF II may not run that well on your Ti book. It needs a lot of horsepower and a top video card.

Already beat that on Xbox... and, I agree, it is one the the best 3rd person shooters out there (even though the story line is dumb <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" /> ). And, ya, SOFII does seem to be a pretty demanding game as far as hardware goes...

EDIT: BTW, thanks for all of your posts, keep em comin! Also, as you can see, I'm into multiplayer a lot.

I'm not a gamer by far (and if I game, it's on a PS or PS2). That said, I'd use my vote to vote against Black & White. The game, for some reason, is large (2 cds), and that may be here nor there, but the game is LAME, so much so that it should carry a sticker 'Produced by Lameness Inc. Lameville, Lamia'. Boy, that is nice for kids that haven't gotten the head-hand thing really going, but so is Harry Potter, I guess.

Thank you for all of your input guys! I've decided to get most of the games you mentioned here actually! I'm going to check out the reviews of Master of Orion 3 when it comes out, get Baldur's Gate II, MOHAA, and SOF H... Because I couldn't decide which single one to get.

Something I didn't learn until I started playing: the Fallout 2 port was done by Omni (to what extent I do not know).
