Sometime we need to establish one... man, that would be fun! And we could have our names be our user names on here... think of the possibilities!

Sounds good to me. What about EverQuest? Is it out yet for the Mac? Anyone played it for the Mac?

Ya, its out alright! <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000070MQB/qid=1045371586/sr=1-11/ref=sr_1_11/104-3273908-0455121?v=glance&s=videogames"; target="_blank">http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000070MQB/qid=1045371586/sr=1-11/ref=sr_1_11/104-3273908-0455121?v=glance&s=videogames</a>; I haven't played it yet though... and 10 bucks a month may get a little pricy... still, I may have to pick it up sometime...

EDIT: Actually, I was wrong... it comes out in April... my bad.

good idea .... but to get the max number of AI people involved would it not be better to use something we can all get without buying like the RTCW demo ? Just a thought.

Well... Quake is more popular and there is a demo for Quake III Arena, but I would be up for trying Return to Castle Wolfenstein

I suck at FPS. Hell, I suck at all video games. But I'd be up for it if I can find a cheap copy of QIII.

I'll give it a shot. I could do either UT or Medal of Honor. For those of you who have MOH, I think it would be even better than Quake because of the more realistic physics and environment. The sniper tournaments in some of the "destroyed village" type levels are truly intense.

Anyway, it should be pretty easy to set up a GameRanger server and chat room, no? I'm only 56k so I'll probably get my ass handed to me, but I play pretty well for a nu-be.

I just set up a GameRanger account, so I'm ready to go. Looks like a pretty good service to use... My name is Bioflavonoid btw...

I'm sure most mac gamers use Gameranger, I have for years. I'd be up for this, but only in OS X of course.

Ghost Recon Demo, RTCW MP Test 2...

I'll post this here 'cause I know you all are reading this.

I bought Q3A Gold today for $20. I download the OS X binary that should work with it. I double click on it and it says ... "Choose the Quake3 install directory..." so I do that and it says "Choose the Quake3 install directory..." <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

    ... any help?

damn it, I wish I still had DSL.... but, I'll give it a shot w/ 56k.

Ok, to get this thing moving, we should probably all get some gameranger accounts (free). <a href="http://www.gameranger.com"; target="_blank">www.gameranger.com</a>

And, scott, I'll try and figure out the problem for you still.

    1. Run the 1.32 installer. This puts 1.32 in /Applications/Quake3

    2. Run the PunkBuster installer (now located in /Applications/Quake3)

    3. Copy pak0.pk3 from the Quake3 CD /baseq3 directory to /Applications/Quake3/baseq3

    4. If you have the mission pack: Copy pak0.pk3 from the missionpack CD /missionpack directory to /Applications/Quake3/missionpack

    EDIT: Hope this helps, Scott!

Haha! I would lose so badly at Quake! EQ on the other hand... Well, actually I just cancelled my EverQuest account last night. I made someone very happy by giving them all of my gear. Oh well.... I don't think I'll miss it that much.

This really should be done with a free demo.

YES! I was trying to copy the binary from /Ap's/Quake to /Ap'sOS9/Quake Also I lost the in staller and had to wait to get back to my cable to down load it. I think the game is running as it should now.

Anyone still up for a frag fest? Weekends are bad for me. Sunday night is okay. During the week much better.
