Apple on Tuesday ceased signing code for iOS 13.3.1 after the release of iOS 13.4, effectively restricting users who upgraded to the latest operating system version from downgrading.

The halt to iOS 13.3.1 signing arrives exactly one week after the current iOS 13.4 was issued to users on March 24.

Today's stoppage means users can no longer download the out-of-date operating system from Apple's servers. The Cupertino tech giant regularly ceases code signing to prevent users from installing old iOS versions following the release of a new version, a practice that keeps users safe from new threats and ensures devices are running the latest feature-rich software.

In addition to long-awaited touchpad and mouse support in iPadOS 13.4, the latest round of OS updates delivers a host of new features including iCloud folder sharing, universal purchases, CarPlay enhancements and new Memoji stickers. Other tweaks include an updated Mail toolbar and Family Sharing in the TV app.

Apple on Tuesday also released initial beta versions of iOS 13.4.5, iPadOS 13.4.5, tvOS 13.4.5 and macOS 10.15.5. Not much is known about the update, though early looks revealed social media sharing in Apple Music and code snippets detailing Apple's CarKey API.

Immediately after downloading 13.4 I started having problems with certain characters (but not necessarily keys) not working on my Logitech keyboard so I reverted back to 13.3.1. Glad I did it before they stopped signing the code.

I wish they would fucking stop doing that so quickly. Goddamn control freaks. I keep experiencing app crashes and weird UI issues across the entire OS and apps.
