I just got down writing a relatively long post for a common question. How about you start a FAQ forum, one thread for suggestions on what to do for a faq, one thread for the actual user submitted faqs, and each faq then has its own thread which can only be created by a moderator.

Personally, I like the idea.
Anyhow, if a FAQ forum does come to being, it may be in the form of a sub-forum of the Genius Bar, like what Escher mentioned. Such a sub-forum could have special permission settings so only certain folk (perhaps a panel of editors) would post new threads so that it doesn't become cluttered with nonessential junk.
forum ?
Well no, do. I know the perfect moderator.

We are just waiting for Santa Klaus, you know the old bearded men ...
Ph33r.
<strong>Sorry Murbot, I'm not taking on any new projects at the moment. Consider my tenure here strictly pro bono. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> </strong><hr></blockquote>
What makes you think I meant YOU, man?
Ok, it was.
Those new here would quickly get up to speed on some things (and may not have to create a whole new thread on something that's been discussed 5 gazillion times already). Then for any old-timers around, it would still be fun, strictly as a reminder or whatever.
Yes...bring on the AppleInsider FAQ!
BTW, I see a FAQ link already exists, but it's mostly about posting, smileys and UBB specific things.
I'm talking about a FAQ that's very specific to the actual participants and tone of AppleInsider.
For example, if I could ever finally understand that whole "cat and watermelon" thing, I'd be eternally grateful...
What?
