]NOTE: I looked to see if someone else had posted a thread on this, but missed the older OS X on Intel thread from July 17, which has just been updated with this news. So you may want to lock this, but I also imagine it might have been missed if people didn't search out the latest post on the older thread.

He says this in the latest edition of his PC Manifesto. "Neff, for instance, predicted Apple, which uses chips from Motorola and IBM that currently top out at 1GHz, will switch to Intel, whose chips run at 2.5GHz, to get a performance boost and gain more customers. There's a better than 80 percent chance Apple will make the jump in two to four years, he said. "

PS. I have no idea who this guy is, how much credibility he has or what his level of accuracy is. However, the fact that he works for Bear Stearns (connections), puts this thing out annually (if it was all BS why would they continue to publish it) and probably makes mega bucks (how much do the guys that run these rumor sites earn?) may make him a better source than MOSR and their ilk.
