The Peloton Heart Rate Band will pair wirelessly with the company's existing treadmills and fitness bike, as well as smart devices with the Peloton app. It'll be able to track the intensity of workouts, allowing users to get more accurate fitness data, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.

According to the code hidden within the Peloton app, the band will come in multiple sizes, sport an adjustable strap, and have a small display that shows the current battery level and connectivity status.

"Track the intensity of your workouts from Zone 1 (lowest effort) to Zone 5 (maximum capacity). Using the adjustable strap, wear the Peloton Heart Rate Monitor snug on your forearm to accurately monitor your effort during workouts," the code says.

Additionally, the code suggests that the band will be able to receive software updates, hinting at future features and compatibility in the future.

Peloton currently sells a $49 heart rate monitor that straps to a user's chest. The company's equipment can also connect to Apple GymKit, allowing for users to track their workouts using an Apple Watch. Back in April, it scaled back platform integration with Apple's wearable, potentially in preparation for the forthcoming armband.

At this point, it isn't clear when the armband will go on sale. It's also possible that the device could never hit store shelves.

On Tuesday, Peloton also announced a new initiative that allows corporations to offer subsidized memberships, customized enterprise features, and "exclusive benefits to its employees.

They also just announced that to use the treadmill customers paid $3000 for, they now have to also get a $40 per month subscription to get a software update to require an activation passcode (so e.g. kids can't start the treadmill).

You know what I want, an Apple Watch Sport that has less features, not more. Fitness wearables is an interesting space but I'm not going to leave the Apple Ecosystem. I'd also like an AppleGym near my AppleCondo included in my AppleOne membership. But whatever. i want a lot of things.

    1. Their primary product is the bike, but they also have a range of other products from the tread to yoga to fitness.

    2. All treadmills kill babies (see Mike Tyson). The trick is to ensure that kids stay away from them.
