Print Center Secret Options:

Open Print Center app.

hold down the Option key and click "Add" button.

In the next pop-up box, you will see the usual drop-down menu. Click it.

You should see "Advanced" options at the bottom.

    that's long known. you have to do this when you install Gimp Print.

    I tried on 2 different computers, but didn't see the 'Advanced' option on either

    Yup, thats pretty much what I was expecting to see, but its not there...on either Mac. I am logged on as Admin.



    Do you have to turn anything on? CLI?

    I've tried on more Macs (10.2.4) and none of them have this.



    Does AppleTalk need to be on or something?

    Well, I've looked at all of my Macs and none have this option. It must be activated somehow.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....Do you konw where to get some good crack on a Friday night? I must have smoked all of mine while I was running around btwn Macs, adding printers, and not holding down the option key. doh!



    Now that I've managed to follow the directions, does anyone know what 'LPD/LPR Host or Printer' does? We are using LPR exclusively at work.

    A LPR print server maybe? Ala OS X Server's Print Services I assume?

    LPD/LPR means you can print via a unix machine setup to be a print server.
