And I guess we won't see new ones at MW

    What the hell is wrong with you? You didn't use conformed or one of it's variants. NOW, just doesn't cut it on these boards.

    This from the apple/powerbook web site:

    "Slot-loading DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo drive (reads DVDs at 8x and CDs at 24x; writes CD-R and CD-RW discs at 8x)"



    Looks like this Combo drive isn't as limited in speed as the iBook's, which writes at 4x. Unless that's a typo like the original iBook specs.



    And those prices are higher, aren't they?
