VOB to MPEG 2

Does anyone know how I can convert VOB files to MPEG 2. I have been able to download a DVD to my harddrive using DVDBackup. But I need to convert it to MPEG 2 so I can edit it(take only certain scenes).

    go to version tracker and get OSex.



    rip to "elementary streams" meaning .m2v and .ac3



    run .ac3 through mac3dec to convert it to a stereo aiff



    load into fcp or fcexpress
