Todays events lead me to wonder and worry about the iBook.

I just purchased a new CDRW iBook last night for $1,579. Do you think that the Powerbook update has any bearing on the iBook at MWSF? Should I cancel my order just to be safe? Should I just stop worrying because the iBook was just uppdated and MWSF is going to be focused on iMacs and G5's. I wanted it for Christmas. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Even iBook is going to be updated there will only three things that will change

    CPU

    RAM

    HD

But I don't think they will be changed until spring. iBook is selling well and Apple doesn't have that much pressure to update it.

Don't expect the screen will get any bigger until Summer......IMO...Apple just include the combo drive to TiBook is to speed up the sales. If now they include bigger screen to iBook the notebook sales will immediately turning back to iBook. Doesn't make any economic sense.....

This is the time where I hate the Apple privacy crap, they are too secret for OUR own good. I want an iBook but I dont want to spend so much now and three weeks later be screwedated!

If you want to be safe, check the return policy of the store you're buying from. Some places may have a 30 day money-back guarantee that would cover you in time for MWSF.

I truly doubt Apple will update the iBooks at MWSF. Why? They were one of the most recently released updates, Tokyo is the laptop show not MWSF, and look at what they might update before the iBook at MWSF:

    A. Towers

    B. iMacs

    C. Displays

    D. New Device

I truly doubt we will see five products at MWSF. More like one or two.

I can't see the iBook getting updated anytime before MacWorld Tokyo, but you never know.

I wouldn't worry about it. The lack of a Combo drive was a glaring omission from the TiBook. They needed to remedy that as soom as possible. It does not hint at future upgrades to either the Ti or iBook. It was just fixing a problem.

Actually, this is the reason for Apple privacy. If everybody knew what was coming out in a few month, who would buy the current products?
