Is the Xraid the best value?

Of all the high capacity storage solutions out there, is the Xraid 2.54 terabyte model the best in terms of price/performance, or even just price?



if not, could anyone list alternatives that are more competetively priced.



checking Apple.com, the other storage solutions they post are ridiculously more expensive. But I want some discretion, and unbiased info.



so what's the scoop?

    I don't think any other major brand name sells racked IDE storage solutions equivalent to Xserve RAID, so it's really hard to make any kind of comparison.



    For a Dell SCSI solution with 2+ TB of diskspace, you're looking at ~$20000. For a Sun, at least twice that if not a lot more... Same goes for IBM...
