OS X Dock question

I was messing around and must've hit a few keys. My cursor turned to that one two arrows separated by a line (when you resize a column in a window for example) and when i moved the mouse either way it shrunk or expanded the size of the icons in the Dock. How did I do that! It's really cool but I couldn't find out what keys I used.

you don't need to press a key at all. just hold the cursor over the divider line between dock items and the trash can.

    FYI,

Hold shift while dragging the divider and you can move the dock to the left, bottom, or right of the screen.

Hold command-option while dragging the divider and the dock size will snap between the "good" sizes of 16, 32, 48, 64, 80, and 128.

Thanks Brad that's exactly what I was talking about. I like all these hidden features. The shift thing is cool too.
