DiskWarrior
I have a G3 Powerbook that is being checked by DiskWarrior running off a Lacie Firewire drive. Unfortunately, it's been almost 2 days now and it's still going. Is there any hope that it will ever finish? Can anyone suggest a possible timeframe?
I just wanted to add that I think it was Norton that actually caused many of the problems that DiskWarrior is now trying to fix. What a piece of crap!
Thanks
Zack

When my iBook crashed I'm fairly sure the shop used DiskWarrior to retrieve all my data. It took nearly three days to get everthiing back off of my 20Gb drive. So let it run!
Let DW do its job no matter how long it takes!!
I have had nothing but BAD experiences (and read many MANY other similar bad experiences) about Norton in recent years, especially on Mac OS X.
Contrary, DW has saved several drives that Norton could not fix after repeated attempts. I gave up on Norton. I recommend to all my colleagues and friends that they do the same.
My socialist self can hardly control the urge to pirate this software asap, but this is something I might pretty well buy.

Still, I'd let it run as long as it needs. Repair time (as you've noticed) grows drastically as the hard drive size and number of files increases.
