Working at the Apple Store

I am currently applying for a job at an Apple Store opening near my home (Huntington Long Island NY). I'm a College student so I can only work from May to early September. I applied for a coupe of positions but only the part time Mac specialist is still open. Could anyone who is currently an employee at an Apple store or has applied for a job at one give me some advice as how to "encourage" employment. Is there anything they look for on a n application that grabs their attention? I am curious if anyone here has also applied and/or gotten a job at this store and can give me some advice or contact info as to get me an interview. I really want this job!

good luck. the apple hr people are notoriously slow.

i've applied for quite a few jobs at apple stores in my area (there's three quite close) over the last nine months or so.

a friend of mine works for apple as the guy in charge of all the area compusas. he's called all the recruiters and such recommending me non-stop for several months.

i finally get a call from the recruiter a few weeks ago, offering me a part-time job at a store an hour and a half away.

hopefully your experience will be better.

Where in Huntington is Apple opening a store?

I know the Roosevelt Field store, isn't it a little close?

I did apply for the Bellevue Square AppleStore (opening on May 10), but I didn't get any reply.

I'm going to try another store which is opening soon.

Same thing with me. Does anyone know if they have a minimum age requirement?

Darn, I was considering trying to get a job at the Bellevue Square store, but I am only 17. Maybe next summer. Unfortunately, I am going to miss the opening.

I'm here. Lately I've been too wrapped up in the (horrible) Mets, Nets, driving, school, etc. I just got an iMac yesterday so that got me kinda back into the AI mood

I recently got laid off and the Apple store near me has yet to contact me or fill the position I applied for. Hopefully they will soon tell me one way or another.
